Breathtaking mountain scenery with 360º views of the Canadian Rockies, native trees, alpine wildflowers and local wildlife are some of the sights to enjoy on a scenic hike on the Lizard Range.
The Timber Express Chairlift at Fernie Alpine Resort will whisk you up the top of the mountain where you will experience spectacular views of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Go for a casual hike amongst the wildflowers on one of our alpine hiking trails, then enjoy a delicious lunch or snack at the Lost Boys Café. When you are ready the return trip back down to base is just as exciting and spectacular. Facing down the valley towards the famous Mount Hosmer you may even see the famous Ghostrider shadow.
If you choose to explore the Lizard Bowl and beyond via the Elk Chair, definitely stop by Nature Bob's Interpretive Centre. Even better, go on a Interpretive Walk with them - complimentary with the cost of the lift ticket. They know all about the things that walk and grow in this area. Did you know many of the mountains in Fernie are actually upside down? Ask the guides abou the fascinating geology of the Lizard Range.
