Biking in Fernie with the Fernie Mountain Biking Club

Established in 1990 by a group of weekly riders, Fernie Mountain Bike Club has grown into one of Fernie's most active community groups.

In 2017, the FMBC is proud to welcome two stars of Canadian Mountain Biking, Olympian Catharine Pendrel and National Team Member Sandra Walker for a Weekend of mountain biking awesomeness including a slide show reception, group ride and special 'little women on wheels' event to get girls stoked on the sport! Pendrel and Walker will be in town Sep 29 - Oct 1, don't miss your chance to meet these heroes of the sport. The weekend also encompasses the High Roller Poker Ride, a fantastic way to end the season for all fans of big trail riding.

Every summer, FMBC run a series of events including the weekly 2knee race series, FWOW (Fernie Women on Wheels) Wednesday evening rides, Thursday work parties, and the monthly Little Critter Criterium rides for the tiniest mountain bike enthusiasts.

Kicking things off in late May with the annual Bike Blitz, FMBC ramps things up with a variety of big events throughout the season including the Project 9 Race, celebrating one of Fernie's favourite trails in Mt Fernie Provincial Park. It's so good, they even named a beer after it! If full face helmets and body armour are more your style, the Dirt Diggler Fall Classic will satisfy all your downhill needs. The ever-popular Wam Bam Dirt Jump Jam took a break in 2017 but plans to come back bigger and better in 2018! This event is a fantastic spectacle for riders and spectators, held at the downtown Dirt Jump Park. New events including the Bike Rave and Trail Razr have proved to be huge hits, expect to see them on the calendar each year.

Help the FMBC ensure the long-term success, development, and maintenance of our valuable community trail assets, events, and facilities by becoming a member.
