2019 Summer Guided Hikes, Tours, & Walks in Fernie

Don't miss some of the best guided hikes in the Rockies this summer! Guided heritage tours explore Fernie's engaging history so you can delve even deeper.

Explore and learn with a professional guide as you take a journey into Fernie's enthralling nature or history. Click the link below for a calendar of scheduled guided summer interpretive hikes and tours offer something for all ages and abilities.

Summer Guided Hikes, Walk and Tours

90-minute Historical Walking Tours in downtown Fernie are offered by the Fernie Museum every Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer. Custom and private tours are also available on request.

Scheduled, guided trail and sub-alpine hikes are offered by Fernie Alpine Resort and Island Lake Lodge, see link above for dates from June to September. Hike through old-growth forests and alpine meadows, discover waterfalls, flaura, fauna, fossils and spectacular views. Hiking guides are available to book for private tours.

Fernie Alpine Resort also offers regular short hikes;

  • Tuesdays: Forage & Feast. Discover edible berries, fungi and plants then enjoy your finds in a specially prepared dinner with friends at Cirque Restaurant. Available June - August. Adults $35/Kids $22. Bookings required.
  • Daily interpretive hike from the Interpretive Centre at the top of the Bear Chair. Departs daily at 2 pm, complimentary with chairlift ticket. 

Wild Nature Tours & Workshops offer interpretive walks and workshops connecting hikers to nature.
