For a small mountain town in the Rockies with a population of only 5,000 it’s quite pleasing to find out how many exceptional and varied places there are to eat. Fernie’s multi-culturalism, history, mountain culture and hip vibe all blend to give its dining a thumbs up from global visitors and locals alike. Lizard Creek Lodge's New Cirque Restaurant & Ice Bar
Just opened in December, it's created a lot of hype. The Grand Room at Lizard Creek Lodge underwent big renovations while keeping its prized majestic river rock fireplace and big views of the Rockies and ski slopes of Fernie Alpine Resort. The menu is a Canadian and European fusion with Fresh Oysters, Bison Carpaccio and a classic Spaghetti Bolognaise. The breakfast and après ski menu is equally tantalizing. Adjacent to the restaurant is the new sub zero temperature Ice Bar, guests enjoy wearing Helly Hansen Parkas while tasting a variety of Vodkas.

This hip spot offers an astonishingly delicious drink menu with authentic Latin American delights. The selection of pulled-pork, tequila lime chicken and pescado corn tortilla tacos served tapas style are terrific, as is the authentic Ceviche dish—Mahi Mahi cured in citrus juice and tossed with a variety of greens.
