A pretty little lake with perfect views of the Three Sisters and Mt Proctor.

Maiden Lake is right in town and is a great spot to enjoy swimming, easy paddling and picnicking on the grass while enjoying the views. Kids can catch minnows, play at the little rocky beach area or explore trails and nature. Maiden Lake is open to the public.

Please return any fish back into the lake.

The turn-off for Maiden Lake is shortly after the crossing the North Fernie Bridge coming into Fernie. Turn left at the traffic lights towards McDonald's and Tim Hortons, and head straight. The lake is located off 19th Street in Fernie, behind Canadian Tire and Independent Foods Grocery Store, with space for limited parking on 19th Street. It is close walking distance to Fernie RV ResortFernie Golf Club and the Best Western Plus Lodge.

Gear Rental

Inflatable Stand-Up Paddleboards and Kayaks are available for rent at Gearhub Sports in downtown Fernie.

The Fernie Town Trail

Maiden Lake is a great starting place to walk or bike the family-friendly Fernie Town Trail. We recommend walking the 4km stretch along the Elk River to Dogwood Park (8km return).
