Kayleigh Sherman: Coal Valley
Artist meet & greet: Saturday, August 29th, 10am - 3pm.
Show continues throughout September.
Elkford-based emerging mixed media artist Kayleigh Sherman was born in 1986 in Chertsey, England, and raised on Vancouver Island. She has been a creator her entire life, and her impulsive, spontaneous nature has moved her through many different outlets and media. She worked with primarily textile-based media until her 30’s when she began experimenting with 2D art using watercolour and ink. She draws inspiration from her environment and her own life experiences and is a self-taught artist.
She has private textile and mixed media collections in Victoria, Vancouver, Cranbrook, and Elkford, BC. Currently, she is preparing to release a series in watercolour and ink inspired by the coal mining industry in the Elk Valley, as well as a series of original watercolour bookmarks to be sold in a local shop in Kimberley, BC.
Please note, there is limited capacity in the gallery due to physical distancing requirements.
