The Book Bike is a Fernie Heritage Library summer staple, bringing books to everyone all around town.

Join librarians as we hop on our bikes to launch our Fernie Book Bike 2017 Programs in conjunction with #biketoworkbc day. ALL ARE WELCOME! We will meet in the library garden with our bikes, bells and balloons, on a scheduled yet leisurely route around town and end up for a potluck picnic and an all-ages storytime at a public park. All bikes and riders welcome to join us for the entire ride, or at pick-up spots along the way. Peddle on!

ITINERARY

  • 4:00pm: All bikes and riders meet at library parking lot and hand our bike streamers to all participants to put on their bikes
  • 4:15pm: Depart library and start our ride: meeting spots are set up with helium balloons in advance so riders can meet there and join in. (Map coming soon)
  • 5:15pm: Picnic Potluck in Library garden
  • 5:30pm: Book Sale, Watermelon, and mingling in the Library Garden
