It's BC's big day off! Bring your family to join in the fun.
Family Day was first introduced in British Columbia as a public holiday in 2015, and since then, the Leisure Services Department at the City of Fernie has been busy creating lots of fun events and activities for all to enjoy - and the best part is that it's all free!
Fernie Aquatic Centre, 1-4pm:
FREE swim with the WIBIT obstacle course in the main pool.
Fernie Memorial Arena, Noon - 3pm:
The Ghostriders Junior Hockey Club will be serving up yummy BBQ hamburgers, and joining visitors on the ice for a FREE skate with the public.
Fernie Courthouse, all day*:
The outdoor skating rink is open daily and is a great way to enjoy the beautiful Fernie scenery during a fun skate with family and friends. Bring your skates and your favourite people!
*NB: Due to the recent massive snowfall, the outdoor rink may not be available. Workers are working round-the-clock to keep the streets accessible, and will only be able to clear the ice if time allows.
