We all have an important role to play in our safety in the outdoors and in ensuring Fernie can be enjoyed by generations to come.
With the growth of rural travel and outdoor recreation in BC, now more than ever, it is our collective responsibility to ensure everyone respects nature, places and people, and contribute to the stewardship efforts.
At Tourism Fernie, we support a variety of initiatives from the AmbassadorWILD Program to local non-profits such as the Elk River Alliance, Fernie Trails Alliance, Coal Creek Heritage Society, Fernie Mountain Bike Club, Fernie Nordic Society, the Fernie Museum, the Arts Council and more.
Kootenay Rockies Tourism, our regional tourism organization helped create responsible travel education tools. They worked in partnership with multiple organizations such as BC Adventure Smart and BC Wildfire Service to create Visitor Code of Conduct messaging, videos and infographics to help educate visitors in our region.
