Location:

Coal Creek Camping & RV is located in the Montane are of Fernie adjacent to Coal Creek. Just a few minutes by bike or a short walk into Historic Downtown Fernie, with easy access from town via Pine Ave-Coal Creek Road. 

Recreation on your doorstep: 

Coal Creek Camping & RV is located close to many trails for snowshoeing, biking, hiking and snowmobiling, and popular attractions, including:

  • Montane Trails - Multi-use trails for mountain biking, fatbiking, hiking and snowshoeing, running and dedicated trails for cross-country skiing
  • Ridgemont Trails - Multi-use trails for mountain biking, fatbiking, hiking and snowshoeing
  • Coal Creek Snowmobile Trailhead - Operated by Fernie Snowmobile Association
  • Coal Creek Heritage Trail - an interpretive trail along Coal Creek, leading to the historic former townsite of Coal Creek. 
  • Montane Barn
    • The public is welcome to walk around the historic barn, which was originally the home of the pit ponies that worked at the Coal Creek Mines. The Montane Barn hosts the Fernie Therapeutic Horse and Pony Club and miniature ponies, Daphne, Sher, & Cowboy, plus around 60 laying chickens including Golden Comets, Rockettes and Caramel Queens
