Canadian Powder Tours Lodge, est. in 1998, offers private, self catering accommodation, B&B, and catered stays.

The private ground level offers 3 spacious bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchenette and private entrance, while the full lodge offers 5 bedrooms, cooked breakfasts, and optional evening meals. Guests may make the most of the on-mountain ski guiding offered. Snowmobilers can opt for hot lunches to go. Ther is plenty of free parking and an outdoor hot tub with incredible views. Groups can also book the entire lodge if they prefer.

The lodge is conveniently located half way between downtown and Fernie Alpine Resort, just minutes to in either direction. Biking and hiking trails right from the front door. Guests can opt for as much or as little as they require to make their stay memorable. Catering options are available; B&B, hot lunches to go, on mountain ski guiding, local info.

Lodge Amenities

The log lodge is characteristic of the region. The ground floor is separated exclusively for self catering guests while the hosts live on the first level. There are 3 spacious bedrooms to suit either couples, singles or families and may be arranged as requested. For larger groups the entire lodge is available, offering 4 bedrooms, large dining and living area with a fireplace. There is a mix of comfortable queen or twin beds, all with down-filled quilts and pillows and cotton sheets. There are 3 bathrooms and plenty of soft, cotton towels are provided.

The living, dining, and kitchenette area has seating and a coffee table, a dining table with chairs, fridge, freezer, NSF stainless sink, microwave, countertop convection oven, toaster, flat plate, BBQ, kettle, coffee maker, smoothie blender & dishes. If the entire lodge is used there is a harvest dining table, front room with couches and a fireplace & an in house chef to provide catering options.

The boot room has room for skis & bikes if needed, and a shelter with a lock for bikes outdoors is available in a private area, there is a 6 boot, 6 glove boot dryer & plenty of drying space and benches to sit & get geared-up!

Location

Enjoy all the amazing summer activities that Fernie has to offer from the comfort of the beautiful, relaxing lodge with stunning views of the Lizard Range. A very large and well-kept yard backing onto the Elk River offers access to lots of great fishing holes. The lodge is minutes from downtown and has easy access to biking and hiking trails and the ski hill.

Dining Options

Guests at the lodge will be offered mouthwatering catering options. All catering options are available; a full cooked breakfast, cooked lunch and evening meals are optional. The focus is on organic and healthy cuisine, sourced, fresh, nutritional and always made from scratch from healthy & hearty ingredients prepared by the owner & chef.

Snacks and drinks are available anytime. Meals can be arranged to suit the group and the food truck can cater to weddings and bigger parties.

The introduction of our summer operations and Hideaway Lodge gives summer guests the opportunity to experience what we offer set alongside nature and in mountain surroundings with their own very "chilled-out" outdoor setting including a harvest dining table, BBQ, double sink, fire pit, music and evening lighting and optional in-house chef catering.

Your hosts have been providing adventure holidays and specialized skiing and mountain bike tours since 1998 and they can assist you with all your holiday plans and activities offering a vast amount of knowledge and experience.

Outdoor Space

A summer highlight is the outdoor kitchen/dining area, private use for guests with a BBQ, firepit, Bluetooth speaker, sinks, dishes & a log harvest table to socialise around. It is shaded & offers views of the Lizard Range while backing onto the beloved wetland where many bird species can be heard and watched as well as every other marsh inhabitant from beavers to moose, eagles, dragonflies endless, a secret nature reserve right at the lodge. There is access to world-class fly fishing on the Elk River right from the lodge.  Mountain bikers can access trails easily without ever having to drive, cycle right from the door.

There is also bike wash station.

Winter Season Ski Guiding

The value of the guiding can not be emphasized enough. Fernie Alpine Resort has over 140 marked trails; the open-bowl layout gives access to acres of hidden terrain, ridges and powder stashes that make it a ski enthusiast's paradise. Canadian Powder Tours provides a guided experience to our guests aimed towards black run-ability guests and guarantees the highest adrenaline satisfaction on the mountain! The resort also offers specialized clinics, a host service and winter sports school to take guests to that next level.

Summer guiding

Summer mountain bike guiding can be arranged. Canadian Powder Tours has worked with a world-class mountain bike tour company for 14 years and are very familiar with the guiding needs of MTB guests. Gravel grinding is becoming popular in Fernie, this is a great local option for riders who want to check out the gravel roads.

Adventure motorcycle tourers are warmly welcomed with safe places for their bikes and a perfect spot to rest, eat & have a shower!

Hiking guides are also an option if you want to explore the area on foot. White water rafting, SUP lessons, nature tours, music festival, downtown social evenings with live music, river floats and swimming are to name but a few activities to add to your adventure.
