Fernie Trails Alliance (FTA) is the umbrella organization representing all trail users here in Fernie, BC.

As a registered Charity, the FTA is constantly striving to make Fernie's massive and growing trail network the best possible experience for all trail users from bikers to hikers. There are always a number of projects in progress. While some are bigger picture, longer-term projects spanning multiple seasons; many are weekly or seasonal efforts to maintain and improve our extensive trail network.

Work of this magnitude doesn't happen by itself. The FTA collaborates and engages with numerous groups and organisations from volunteer trail builders, various landowners, local businesses and the many passionate outdoor recreation groups to keep the trails as one of Fernie's highlight outdoor attractions. You can learn more about current and upcoming projects on the FTA webpage.

You can help support the work of the Fernie Trails Alliance by purchasing a Fernie Trails Pass or making a donation.

Purchase your Fernie Trails Pass

The FTA manages the majority of all of Fernie’s multi-use trails, and the year-round costs associated with them – from maintenance and trail building to winter grooming for fatbiking.

As such, it lands on the FTA to generate enough funds to keep our trails rolling year-round and ensure all trail users have signed a digital waiver – which is vital for the security of both the FTA, and our generous Land Owners.

The Fernie Trails Pass is a way for locals and visitors to support and give back to the Fernie trail network. With options from day and weekend use, to annual single and family memberships, there is a way for everyone to support our trails.

Annual Adult | Adult Weekend | Corporate Pass | Day Use | Family Annual | Senior Annual | Youth Annual

Trail Passes and Member Club memberships run a calendar year, from Jan 1st to Dec 31st.

*Purchasing a Fernie Trails Pass is non-mandatory, however, it has been unscientifically proving to boost excellent trail karma.*

Donate to the Fernie Trails Alliance

As a Charity, the FTA relies on donations as much as they rely on grants and volunteer hours. Any donation is a great help to the Fernie trail network – whether a general donation or to a specific project. If you're not actively using the trails, making a donation is the perfect way to support the Fernie trail network.
