Trail Use Fees

There are boxes next to the Clubhouse at the Fernie Golf Course and at the Nordic Centre for membership registrations and to deposit your day-use fee which includes insurance. Consider getting a Nordic Society season pass if you plan to ski more than a couple of days: visit the Fernie Nordic Society Website.

Lessons, Coaching and Group Skiing

The Skill Development Program offered to our young skiers by the Fernie Nordic Society was actually developed by the nation-wide organization Cross Country Canada. The program is standardized across the country. All our volunteer coaches are trained according to the established structure to provide a consistent level of training to our skiers.

Formal ski lessons are offered for both Bunnyrabbit (age 5 and under) and Jackrabbit (age 6-10) skiers, with a Track Attack Program for kids aged 11 and older. Kids of all skill levels are encouraged to come out for a fun and challenging sport that promotes balance, strength and cardio. Our coaches are trained to ensure safe and very enjoyable lessons, complete with snow soccer, relays and of course just playing around in the snow, taking in the Fernie winter.

Adult Lessons & activities

Adult group skis take place throughout the winter, and are scheduled when the snow starts to fall. Keep up to date on the events and activities happening with the Nordic Society via our website. See you on the snow! Email tarah.leggott@me for group and individual instruction.

Youth Race Team

Since the 2014-2015 season, the Nordic Society has operated a Racing Team for kids 10 years or older who have been previously enrolled in nordic ski lessons for at least one season. If your child is interested in joining the team, please contact the coach Jeff Williams by email at [email protected].

Races & Events

The club hosts regular group skis, social events, competitive races for all ages and more. For details, see the events calendar.
