Whether you are new to the sports of skiing and snowboarding or are looking to build your skills, the Fernie Alpine Resort Winter Sports School offers a range of programs and lessons, for children, youth and adults.

Learn to Ski or Snowboard

Private Coaching/Lessons
- Available any day for 1.5 hours, 2 hours, 3 hours or 6 hours
First Tracks Private Session
- Get on the lift before everyone else!
- Hit the chairlift with a Resort Pro at 8 am for first tracks, 1-hr before the lifts open at 9 am. (Meet at Slopeside Cae at 7:45pm).
- 2-hour guiding program for up to 3 people ages 10+ (10-16 years must be accompanied by an adult)
- Must register by 3:45pm on the previous day.
- $299 for up to 3 people.
- Additional people $75 pp. (to a maximum of 5).
- Ski with your guide until 10am.
Steep & Deep Camps
- 2-day camp exploring Fernie's famous steep and deep terrain.
- Includes coaching, video analysis, lift line priority and apres ski.
- Must be a minimum Level 5 skier or snowboarder.
- Class ratio 1:6.
- Camp dates: Dec 21 & 22, 2019; Jan 25 & 26, Feb 22 & 23, Mar 28 & 29, 2020.
- $349 per person for 2-day camp.
Guided Fernie Experience
- New to Fernie and looking to discover the mountain with an insider?
- Join a professional guide for a 3 or 6 hour tour.
- Up to 3 people for 3 hour tour: $369; additional guests $92.25 pp
- Up to 3 pople for 6 hour tour: $549; additional guests $137.25 pp
Backcountry Basics
- 2-day course introducing clients to the use of avalanche rescue equipment, touring equipment and much more.
- Courses are held in a safe inbounds avalanche controlled area.
- Minimum level 5 ability.
- Course dates: January 11 & 12, February 8 & 9 or March 7 & 8, 2020.
- $349 per person for 2-day camp.
- Intended as an introduction to avalanche safety and preparation for further courses offered by the Canadian Avalanche Centre.
WINTER FATBIKING
Book onto a 'Learn to Fatbike' session. Spend two hours with an experienced guide, exploring the trails and learning tips for biking in the snow.
- $69, includes rental, helmet, and lesson.
- Departs 1:30pm on weekends and holidays.
