Meals on Wheels - Fernie's Food Truck Scene

For a small mountain town, Fernie's local food scene punches far above its weight. From cozy cafés and elevated pub fare to international flavours and après-ski staples, Fernie has built a reputation as a serious foodie destination. Adding even more personality to the mix are the local food trucks - mobile kitchens serving everything from international flavors to fair-trade coffee, fresh-baked treats and artisan ice cream.

The Chopstick Truck

Three women sitting at a picnic table outside a green food truck.

Vietnamese Fusion

Watch out for their bright green food truck just off Highway 3 in West Fernie. Sit in their outdoor space while you enjoy the Vietnamese-inspired street food cooked up fresh in their truck kitchen.

Must Try Dish: Bao Bun Tacos
Typically open: April - October

Miner's Mud

White food truck parked in front of mountains, surrounded by plants and trees.

Coffee & Fresh Baked Treats

Who can't start the day without a hot bevvie? We know we can't. Miner's Mud are up bright and early ready to serve east coast fair-trade brew and freshly baked goods so you can get on with your adventure (or work - we don't judge).

Found just off Highway 3 in West Fernie, sharing the space with The Chopstick Truck.

Must Try Dish: Toasted marshmallow added to your coffee
Typically open: All year round, from 6AM

Happy Cow Ice Cream

Two hands holding ice cream cones, one with red ice cream and one with yellow.

Artisan Ice Cream

The same mouthwateringly delicious ice-cream and sorbet that has kids (and grown-ups) lined up outside their main shop on 7th Avenue, but made better in that it comes to you! Catch the ice cream truck at various Fernie events.

All produce is handmade in-house using local ingredients.

Must Try Flavour: Honeycomb
Typically open:  During summer season

Authentic Japanese Cuisine

If you haven't sat for sushi at Yamagoya, you are missing out! Their food truck, 'Yama2Go Sushi' works its way around the Elk Valley serving up a selection of their more popular rolls to go. You can normally track where the truck is going to be on their social channels.

Itadakimasu!

Must Try: Tuna Tataki Roll
Typically open: During summer season
