FERNIE, British Columbia — Tourism Fernie has launched a new consumer-facing website, replacing a platform that successfully served the organization and its audiences for the past 10 years. The new site delivers a modern, mobile-first experience designed to better meet the needs of today’s travelers while reflecting a refreshed look and feel for the Tourism Fernie brand.
The launch marks the culmination of a 14-month project aimed at improving how visitors access information about Fernie and plan their trips. Developed in partnership with MMGY Origin, a Whistler-based agency, the new website prioritizes usability, accessibility and performance across devices. The redesign introduces streamlined navigation, updated visuals and enhanced content presentation to better showcase Fernie’s year-round offerings.

Tourism Fernie also collaborated with local artist Michael Hepher to infuse the new website with a distinct sense of place. Elements of Hepher’s artwork are woven throughout the site, adding texture and personality while celebrating Fernie’s creative spirit. This integration reflects the organization’s commitment to showcasing not only the destination’s outdoor experiences, but also the vibrant community of artists and artisans who call Fernie home.
The new website is part of a broader brand refresh that will roll out across Tourism Fernie’s marketing materials in the coming weeks, including print collateral and digital creative assets. This phased approach ensures consistency across all visitor touchpoints while maintaining familiarity for returning audiences.
