About the Booked! Fernie Writers Series:

The Fernie Heritage Library has welcomed some of the biggest names in Canadian writing for the Booked! series, a highly anticipated reception that includes an author reading and Q&A followed by live music and lively discussion. The events draw crowds of up to 100 to fill the beautiful Fernie Heritage Library for an engaging evening celebrating the undeniable talents of each guest author.

Thursday, September 3, 2026: Booked! 2026-2027 Launch featuring Glenn Dixon

Glenn Dixon’s book Juliet’s Answer was a national bestseller, published in twelve countries and translated into German, Spanish and Chinese. He has presented his books at literary festivals across the country and been interviewed for major podcasts in Canada, Germany and Italy. His shorter works have appeared in National Geographic, the New Yorker, Psychology Today, the New York Post, the Walrus, and the Globe and Mail.

Dixon’s latest novel, The Infinite Sadness of Small Appliances, was published in April of 2026. It’s set in the near future in a smart house where the appliances (especially a young Roomba vacuum cleaner named Scout) hope to save their elderly humans from the insidious grid that runs the city.
