This exhibit by local artist, Beth Gallup, asks viewers to playfully, seriously consider our complex relationship with electricity. Ponder mini motherboards. Consider the giant dams, massive server farms, huge battery banks, and miles of transmission wires hidden behind a simple plug in a wall.

About the Artist

Beth Gallup brings a colourful, layered, and playfully surreal perspective to her work, inviting viewers to let their imagination wander beyond what’s in front of them.

Her practice often explores the meeting points of industry, electricity, and the natural world. Working across painting, mixed media, and installation, she draws attention to the presence of infrastructure and the subtle ways it shapes our landscapes.
