Inspired Dining

Soak in spectacular mountain views when you dine out this summer.

Relax on the Bear Bistro Patio, open for casual dining and refreshments during the day.

In the evenings, the Tamarack Dining Room features gourmet cuisine with a farm-to-fork focus, and an extensive collection of fine wines and cocktails.

Reach your peak

Two people stand on a rocky outcropping overlooking a mountainous landscape with green trees and snow-capped mountains under a blue sky with clouds.

Hiking at Island Lake Lodge begins with a casual stroll through ancient Western Red Cedar Forests or around the tranquil lake.

From there, the only limitations are your own ability - hike into the alpine and experience spectacular views, breathtaking scenery, alpine wildflowers and abundant wildlife.

A monthly program of guided hikes is offered by ACMG-qualified guides, and trail maps are available online and in print.

Fernie is the farthest east that the beautiful Old Growth Cedars grow.

Heiko's Trail

Heiko's Trail is a spectacular one-way full-day or overnight hike, suited to experienced and fit hikers. Most hikers choose to begin their hike at the Hartley Lake Trailhead and finish at Island Lake Lodge.

Heiko's Trail is not located on Island Lake property and is not managed or maintained by Island Lake Lodge.

If you wish to leave a vehicle at Island Lake Lodge for your return, please contact the lodge at least 24 hours in advance.

Camping is not permitted on Island Lake property.

The stunning surroundings, bespoke service and exclusive location make Island Lake Lodge highly sought after for weddings.
