Fossils on Display

Hundreds of millions of years ago, Fernie was covered by a warm shallow sea with many different marine reptiles, ammonites and ancient fish. The exact replicas of two very specials local fossils are on display at the Fernie Visitor Information Centre - the giant Ammonite and the most complete ichtyosaur ever found in North America - the Fernatator prenticei.

Come see them for yourself! Free entry during opening hours.
