House of Gato specialises in French-style sweet and savoury pastries including croissants, palmiers, danishes, macarons and eclairs, vegan options available too. Freshly brewed coffee to go is also available. Exquisite custom cakes are available to order for special occasions.
Due to the size and nature of the space, House of Gato is open limited hours and selection may vary week by week. Service is offered to-go only; enjoy at home, on the go, or relax at the picnic tables around town.
About the Owner
Pastry Chef Catherine Chartrand moved to Fernie from Quebec as many do, to chase adventure. Soon after being here and being introduced to the food industry she decided to take her new found experience, and her lifelong love for baking back to Quebec to get certified. She received her pastry chef certification from Ecole Hoteliere de la capital, in Quebec city. After completion she made the migration once again, back to Fernie. And we shall be forever grateful she did.
