Fernie Ridge (Ridgemont)

Riding Area

One of Fernie's most popular beginner and intermediate mountain biking singletrack trail system.

Fernie Ridge (aka Ridgemont) is one of Fernie's most popular beginner and intermediate mountain biking singletrack trail system, with some fun advanced trails to mix it up. Mostly on private land, please respect the access provided to ensure we continue to have these trails into the future.

This riding area is right in town, close to Historic Downtown. Very easy to bike from where you're staying to the many trails starting from town such as Cemetery Bypass, Sidewinder or Town Loop and Coal Creek Heritage Trail.

You can also park at the Fernie Aquatic Centre as the main trail access point.
If you are basing your ride from the Fernie Aquatic Centre parking area you can enjoy the skills area, Dirt Jump Bike Park, water and tool station before or after your ride.

All trails are multi-use in summer so be loud when riding to warn others of your approach. Fernie Ridge and the Fernie Aquatic Centre are also access points for longer and bigger trail rides such as The Kush's, Big Money, the full Coal Creek Heritage Trail, Trans Canada Trail, and Fernie's flow trails - Contra and Trail Dogs.

Most of these trails are on private land and we are grateful to have continued access to this important trail system. Two different trail groups manages the trails in this area. Please respect the trails and adhere to signage.
