Fernie, British Columbia has won the title of ‘The Great Canadian Outdoor Town 2016’ in western Canada by Get Out There Magazine.
The search began back in April 2016, with readers of Get Out There Magazine nominating towns that ‘offer the perfect combination of outdoor adventure, events and community’.
Components such as local trail system, best hiking, waterways, camping, coffee shops, craft beer, local food, annual events were all taken into consideration. The vast list of nominees were whittled by public vote to a final shortlist announced in August comprising of;
Nova Scotia
Ontario
Quebec
Alberta
British Columbia
The winner and runner-up towns feature in the latest edition of Get Out There Magazine.
