Yes, this is one of Fernie’s most family-friendly hikes. The trail is manageable for most ages, and the waterfall at the end is a great payoff. However, it is not stroller-friendly.
Yes, there are washrooms, wifi and water refill station at the nearby Visitor Information Centre, accessible during opening hours. Alternatively there is an outhouse at the other side of the parking lot across from the Visitor Centre. Once you’re on the trail, there are no additional facilities.
Not really, unfortunately. The trail has roots and uneven terrain, so a carrier is a better option for little ones.
The trail is accessible all year round. In spring and early summer, the waterfall is a its most powerful. In winter, spikes or snowshoes are recommended, and you might catch the waterfall frozen.
