Unique Places to Stay in Fernie, BC

Published May 04, 2022

Fernie hosts a wide selection of room options from mountainside apartments to city hotel rooms. However, if you're looking for something more out of the ordinary, then check out these unique locations for a memorable stay in Fernie.

1. Fernie Mountain Sanctuary

When Fernie's Old Lutheran Church shut down in 2021, Fernie Mountain Sanctuary refurbished the interior mixing contemporary mountain style whilst retaining feature accents from the original 1910 build. It's located near the centre of Fernie, and just a short walk to Historic Downtown Fernie. With three double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, we believe this is the perfect place to host families or a small group of friends for a unique mountain getaway.

2. Luxury Yurt at Fernie RV Resort

Glamp in comfort year-round at one of Fernie RV Resort's riverside Yurts. They are set up to sleep up to 6 people, or 4 adults. Each are well ventilated in summer and fully heated during the winter months to ensure maximum comfort no matter when you decide to stay.

3. Tiny Homes at Snow Valley Lodging

You'll be amazed by how much they can get into the Tiny Homes at Snow Valley Lodging, yet have it feel so spacious. It's fully equipped with kitchen, living space, and queen size bed. You'll be walking distance from downtown Fernie, yet should you choose to stay in, the six tiny homes share an inviting common space area to dine outside, bbq, and socialise. Fur babies (a.k.a. dogs) are welcome too!

4. Deluxe Pods at Raging Elk Adventure Lodge

Raging Elk Adventure Lodge's Pods are the first of their kind in Canada, combining the inspiration of the Japanese Capsule Hotels with contemporary Canadian alpine styling. Cosy and perfect for thrifty-minded travellers, and those who travel light.

The pods have many cool and practical features and even a secure locker to store valuables.

5. Birch Meadows Lodge

Birch Meadows Lodge is situated in a peaceful and secluded spot a short drive outside of the City of Fernie. Open year-round, it features 4 stunning mountain-style log chalets and four camping spots closeby. Each are equipped with great amenities, including kitchenette, living space, and gas fireplace. The views are a bonus. All are pet-friendly too so you can bring your fur-friends on your Fernie adventure.

This is but a quick taste of what Fernie has to offer. From mountain lodges, town homes, and cabins, to hotels, campsites, and B&Bs. Fernie is packed a variety of accommodation options suited for all requirements and budgets. Check out the list of all Places to Stay and get some inspiration for your mountain escape.
