Find warmth in the colorful tones of chamber group—the Gould/denBok/Everton Trio—to kick off the concert season.

The trio has a passion for different musical genres and will bring a varied program to Fernie, including a playful French trio by Milhaud, the classic Kegelstatt Trio by Mozart, folksy Klezmer clarinet work, and soulful contemporary work by renowned composer Arvo Part.

Tickets are available at the door: $20 adults, $15 seniors (65+) and youth (13 to 18).

The trio features pianist Sue Gould, violinist Martine denBok, and clarinetist Nicola Everton.

Nicola Everton, who makes her home in Nelson, was a member of the Vancouver Symphony for over 20 years, and now joins Martine denBok, the principal second violinist in the Okanagan Symphony. Nicola also plays with the Symphony of the Kootenays, where she performed as the soloist in Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto.

Playing both violin and viola, Martine denBok is a busy multi-instrumentalist and in-demand collaborator, most notably with her acclaimed duo Freya. She makes her home in New Denver, and has a busy teaching studio there and in Nelson. She is also on faculty at the Valhalla Summer Music School.

Sue Gould is originally from Calgary and has been performing as a pianist since her debut with the Mount Royal college at the age of 11. She performs regularly and was recently a soloist with the Symphony of the Kootenays.
