Trails Through Wilderness

A wide range of scenic hikes begin right from Island Lake Lodge or the lower parking lot, making it easy to find the perfect trail for your day. Families and casual hikers will enjoy the gentle Rail Trail, Old Growth Trail, and Lake & Fir Trails - ideal for soaking in the forest at a relaxed pace. For a bit more elevation, the Tamarack Trail offers a short but rewarding climb, with sweeping views of the Lodge below and the Three Bears peaks along the Lizard Range across the valley. Seasoned hikers seeking a challenge can tackle the Spineback Trail or the Mount Baldy Loop, where alpine meadows and expansive vistas unfold at the head of Cedar Valley.

Island Lake Lodge is a backcountry off-grid retreat, hence the rooms don't feature TVs, phones or fridges. An intentional choice that keeps your experience close to nature.

The Ultimate Wellness Experience

The Spa at Island Lake Lodge offers a variety of spa body treatments derived from ancient healing traditions. All treatments are created to promote inner and outer wellness to restore your spirit, and reawaken the senses. Spa guests receive complimentary access to Cedar sauna, hot pool, mountain-side sundeck and reserved seating at the Bear Bistro. Spa is open to public during the summer season June - September, reservations required.

Plan Your Visit Ahead

Island Lake Lodge is open and accessible to public during summer months from mid-June to mid-September. Ensure you plan your visit as there are non-operational days as well as private function closures throughout the summer. Check their schedule of operations before you make the drive. Vehicle access to the lodge past the lower parking lot (4.5km from the lodge) is closed on non-operational days or during private functions.
