A digital animation workshop with Alexandra Kozak, celebrating the summer gallery show: Ice Cream.
Learn some of the secrets of digital animation in this exciting workshop. Alex will help you create a short animation based on a video of melting ice cream. Put your drawings to motion and learn the basics of digital animation with procreate on the IPad! After this workshop you will have the experience to rent an IPad for FREE & create digital art anywhere!
Skill Level: Beginner
Cost: $40 and includes materials and firing & finishing costs.
About the Instructor:
Alexandra Kozak is an artist and designer based in Fernie. She paints the essence of nature with a psychedelic sensibility. By using whimsical, flowing brushstrokes and fluorescent colours she highlights the brilliance of her subject matter. She earned a Bachelors degree in design with honours from the Alberta University of the Arts, with a focus on illustration and animation. She utilizes the design process in her paintings by beginning with meticulous research, then distilling information to an essence. Her experience in animation brings movement to her work.

Ice Cream emphasizes fun in the arts by bringing a cheerful, light subject matter to the gallery. Ice Cream appeals to all ages which suits the Arts Station’s vast demographic. As a central theme, it lends itself to a multitude of interpretations including but not limited to: pastel colours, cows, freezing, sweetness, real vs. artificial etc.
Ice Cream fosters community identity by presenting an unexpected topic through the unique lens of Fernie artists. The show will transform the foyer gallery into a visual treat, with countless flavours & varieties.
