This one-day seminar welcomes avalanche professionals and recreationalists alike to engage in vibrant discussions and learn from fellow avalanche practitioners.

Featuring avalanche safety presentations from industry professionals, sponsor booths, prizes, lunch and learn, and Apres Social.

A variety of topics will include case studies of past events and information on the latest snow safety gear.

      • Shifting the ‘human factors’ conversation away from decision making and into the realm of perception, sense-making, and communication.
  • Zachary Miller
    • Snow Depth Distribution in Complex Mountain Terrain 
      • This talk will discuss key findings from recent spatial variability snow science research and how to incorporate those findings into daily routines while out in the mountains.
  • Terry Palechuk
    • Using GPS Tracking to Illustrate the Effects of Electromagnetic Interference on Avalanche Transceivers 
      • Exploring the effect of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) on signal detection, and utilizing GPS tracking to visually describe the real-world impact of range loss caused by EMI.
