Elk Run & Riot are an alternative folk rock quartet from Canmore and Banff Alberta. They quickly got to work in 2013 writing a unique blend of mountain culture inspired songs representing life in the Bow Valley. Their 2014 debut full-length release “Both Sides of the Valley” put the band on the map. Showcasing their catchy melodies, harmonies and lyrics, the concept album weaves through the highs and lows of a young soul moving to the valley for the first time.
Their second self-titled album released in 2016 displays a maturity in both sound and production that is a reflection of their constant touring. The band prides itself on their versatility. Performances have ranged from house concerts to amphitheatre gigs to headlining festivals.
Elk Run & Riot emerges through the thick cloud of folk rock band stereotypes and similarities creating their own style of creative songwriting and album production that combines elements of folk, bluegrass, rock, and funk. Armed with a high energy live show and two albums under their belt Elk Run & Riot are are locking antlers with the western Canadian music scene.
