State of the Snowpack (SOTS) is a BC Public Safety Society initiative providing localized snowpack updates and analyses for safer backcountry travel.
By collaborating with avalanche professionals in mountain communities across Western Canada, SOTS offers free, community-specific reports and live events that complement Avalanche Canada’s regional forecasts. Their goal is to empower backcountry users with accessible safety information and decision-making tools to reduce avalanche incidents.
