Marissa Alain began with a passion for crafting and designing at a young age. She pursued a diploma with Olds college and graduated from the Costume Cutting and Construction program. She has honed her skills in precise pattern making, meticulous garment construction, and a keen eye for fabric selection.
Born and raised in Calgary, she relocated to Fernie 2.5 years ago. In her workshops, she is imparts technical skills through her deep appreciation for the creativity embedded in every stitch, empowering students with the confidence to explore their unique sewing style and encouraging them to express themselves creatively.
Workshops at the Arts Station
The Arts Station offers dedicated adult and children workshop throughout the year. Classes and workshops vary in duration and may be one-off events featuring a visiting artist, drop in series, scheduled weekly event, weekend camp or other format. Past and current events include feltmaking, pottery, painting, drawing, graffiti art, drama, creative writing, lantern building, crafts, encaustic art, jewellery making, sculpture, film-making, and much much more!
