Alexandra Kozak is an artist and designer based in Fernie, BC. She paints the essence of nature with a psychedelic sensibility. By using whimsical, flowing brushstrokes and fluorescent colours she highlights the brilliance of her subject matter. She earned a Bachelors degree in design with honours from the Alberta University of the Arts, with a focus on illustration and animation. She utilizes the design process in her paintings by beginning with meticulous research, then distilling information to an essence. Her experience in animation brings movement to her work.
Workshops at the Arts Station
The Arts Station offers dedicated adult and children workshop throughout the year. Classes and workshops vary in duration and may be one-off events featuring a visiting artist, drop in series, scheduled weekly event, weekend camp or other format. Past and current events include feltmaking, pottery, painting, drawing, graffiti art, drama, creative writing, lantern building, crafts, encaustic art, jewellery making, sculpture, film-making, and much much more!
