Slow Down and Explore Fernie

One of the best ways to experience Fernie is by slowing down and getting around on foot or by bike. Downtown Fernie is easy to wander in any season, with cafés, shops, restaurants, and galleries all within a few blocks. 

Many of Fernie’s favourite spots from scenic trails to riverside views are just a short bike ride away. 

In the winter, the FernieStoke ski shuttle makes getting to the ski hill simple, offering convenient daytime and evening service between town and Fernie Alpine Resort so you can leave the car behind, enjoy the ride and stay for the après.

Taxi Service

There are no Uber drivers currently operating in Fernie and area.

Limited taxi service is available with Tunnel49 or Kootenay Taxi (call 250-423-4408 or 250-423-4409). 

FernieStoke Ski Shuttle

Winter Local Shuttle Service

Local shuttle service during the ski season helping passengers get between downtown, various accommodation areas and Fernie Alpine Resort.

Daytime and evening service available. This is a paid shuttle. The FernieStoke Shuttle App (via the App Store and Google Play) is required to ride the shuttle, purchase & redeem tickets, find stops and track the shuttle live.

Parking in Fernie

Parking in Fernie is free of charge. Parking regulations are in place from November 1 until April 15 due to regular snow removal.

Electric Vehicle Charging

Fernie has a variety of electric vehicle charging stations including Fast Chargers and Tesla Superchargers. Some are for customers only. Currently there are 12 locations within town, with more on the way. Find more details and updates of new locations on plugshare.com.

Nearest locations along HWY3 are in Sparwood and Crowsnest Pass to the East, and Jaffray to the West.
