Norbury Lake Provincial Park is just under an hour west of Fernie along the Wardner-Fort Steele Road.

Just south of Fort Steele Heritage Town and close to the Kootenay Trout Hatchery, the park encompasses Peckham’s Lake and fronts on Norbury Lake. Beach areas, water sports and pleasant walking trails. Rainbow trout in Peckham’s Lake. Motorized boats not permitted on the lake.

About Norbury Lake Provincial Park Campground

  • 46 campsites accessible for tenting or RVs (campground map)
  • Sites cannot be reserved and are on a first-come, first-served basis
  • No RV hookups
  • Firepits, picnic tables
  • Drinking water
  • Pit or flush toilets, no showers on site
  • There is a boat launch at this park, use is restricted to high clearance vehicles. Boat use is restricted to non-motorized boats only.

Opening and Closing Campground Dates:

Campground is officially open from May 19th to September 15th.
Off-season camping is available in areas, if accessible. There are no facilities open or fees to camp during the off-season.
