14km of groomed and track-set cross-country trails for beginner, intermediate and advanced ability for both classic and skate skiers. Offering a short and long loop, both feature flats and hills amongst big cedar and aspen trees in a quiet landscape. Great for a workout or simply to enjoy the tranquillity of winter wonderland! Trails are groomed most days during the winter season.

The forest trails at Fernie Alpine Resort are multi-use - dogs, fatbikes and snowshoes are all welcome. Please stay out of the nordic tracks unless you are wearing nordic skis and pick up after your dog.

The trails are open and free to the public every day throughout the winter ski season at Fernie Alpine Resort (December-April). In lieu of ticketed user rates, Fernie Alpine Resort invites you to stay, dine, shop and rent at their on-mountain retail, accommodation & dining locations.
Note: Don't forget your headlamps if you are skiing at night as trails are not lit.
You can rent cross-country skis or fat bikes at Sports Alpine Rental in Fernie Alpine Resort's base village. Lessons are also available and can be booked by visiting, calling, or emailing Guest Services.
