In operation since the early 1960s, the Fernie Memorial Arena is one of Fernie's core recreational facilities servicing residents and visitors alike.
Lace-up and hit the ice for an afternoon of skating, or shinny hockey this winter! Great exercise and great fun for the whole family.
For winter 2022-23, ice time at the memorial is available by registration on the City of Fernie Recreation page. It takes only a minute to sign up, and you will have access to reserve and pay for your time on the rink right away.
Bookable time slots are divded by catagories:
Family Skate: All ages welcome. Kids under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Parent & Tot: For parents with children under the age of 5.
Family Skate & Shoot: Bring a stick and take shots on net. No game play or full equipment. All ages are welcome*, however children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
*Please note: Kids must be able to skate unassisted in order to participate in thie activity.
Please note: Public skating is not scheduled during Fernie Ghostrider home games and other scheduled special events.
