Patio Season in Fernie

Updated: June 10, 2024

Spring marks the start of patio season in Fernie!

We sure love to seize every opportunity to get out and feel the warm rays shine down on us. There's just something special about eating 'al fresco'.

Whether you are just looking to enjoy a cool beverage, or take on a few courses after a day's adventure, there are plenty of patio options in and around Fernie.

Here are a few of our favourite Fernie patios.

This is just a teaser of some of the great spots to dine outdoors in Fernie. Once the city has fully transitioned from the snowy season, expect patios from all your favourite coffee shops, bars and restaurants in Historic Downtown Fernie to extend outwards so you can keep working on that summer tan whilst you order!

Check out these patio hot spots:
The Loaf, The Brickhouse, Nevados, Big Bang Bagels, Freshies Cafe, The Fernie Taphouse, Lunchbox, Himalayan Spice Bistro, Blue Toque, The Royal Legion, Fernie Distillers, Rooftop Roasters. View all in our dining section.

You'll get plenty of space, great afternoon sun, and beautiful view of the Lizard Range on the Bridge Bistro patio. Found just off Highway 3 towards the West Fernie Bridge, they also have great breakfast options to fuel your day's adventure.

The lively Kodiak Lounge is part of the newly renovated Raging Elk Adventure Lodging. Their patio is covered, and is set up with fire-pits. Totally ready for whatever the Fernie weather can throw at us. The Kodiak hosts regular live music, and jam nights throughout the week. Be sure to check in on our Events Calendar

Arguably the best dining views can be found from the Bayleaf Indian Fusion patio at the golf course. The unobstructed views across Fernie Golf Club look towards Mount Fernie, the Three Sisters, Mount Proctor, and Mount Hosmer where you may catch sight of the legendary Ghostrider shadow during sunset.

The Pub at Park Place Lodge has a cozy patio great for couples and small groups. There's always plenty of bike rack space for those cruising around town looking for a bite to eat.

The secluded patio of the Fernie Distillers is the perfect spot for pre or post-meals cocktails. With a vast menu that is constantly getting tweaked by the talented bartenders, you'll find a flavour to suit your tastebuds.

Bramasole Restaurant and Wine Bar features wines from BC, bespoke cocktails and a light menu of appetizers and desserts. In summer, the kitchen garden is a lively spot featuring live music, DJ's and is a lovely off-street location for an evening refreshment or light supper.

Spring tends to see new seasonal releases by the imaginative team at Fernie Brewing Company. There's no better and fresher place to enjoy them than right at the source of production.

Step into Nevados restaurant for a taste of Latin America. Specialty tapas, tacos, tequila, craft beer, and music! Check for patio times and availability.

Island Lake Lodge's Bear Bistro & Tamarack Dining Room have been setting the standard for mountain cuisine for many years. Open mid-June till late September on certain days of the week.

Opening as early as 6am, the Miner's Mud are here for you to drop by for your morning coffe. East Coast coffee and snacks are ready to grab and go, or enjoy at the roadside garden space. At the same spot, you'll may detect exotic eastern aromas around lunch time with the Chopstick Truck serving up Vietnamese street food from 11:30 to 7:30pm.
