Looking for a little Spring adventure?

Days are longer and warmer now as we head deeper into Spring. Now's the time to escape city life and make a break to the Rockies.

Things are winding up for the season ahead, and we've listed of some of our biggest things to do this spring and summer, and when they open. It's time to get proactive and start planning your spring getaway.

Fernie Golf Club - 10th May

Fernie Golf Club will be celebrating its landmark 100th Anniversary this year so be ready for a whole week of celebrations on 3-7th July. Also, this season sees the launch of the new Cast Iron Grill restaurant located in the clubhouse. Absolutely perfect for those post-game drinks.

White Water Rafting - May 12th

Judging from the snowy winter just gone, we're expecting the Elk River to be extra wild this spring. Take a tour with Canyon Rafting or Mountain High Adventures, and they'll steer you through thrilling whitewater, stunning canyons, scenic wilderness. Sure to be one of the best adventures of your life.

Paddling the Elk Canyon

Camping - June 1st

Sleep under the stars by the mountains and really connect with nature. Sites are available this spring at Fernie RV Resorts, and Mount Fernie Provincial Park, whether you're bringing your single tent or an RV.

Fernie RV Resorts

Aerial Park - June 1st (advance booking)

Harness up and unleash your inner ape traversing the treetops up to 60ft off the ground. Test your skills on the Rickety Bridge, Shrinking Islands, Picket Fence, and Klatter Bridge - just a few of our features that will take you from beginner to advanced areas within the park. Looking for a way down? There's always the zipline...

Island Lake Lodge - 8th June

The ultimate in relaxation - gourmet cuisine, romantic spa & B&B options. If you're seeking spectacular views, hike to the mountains on the new Goldilocks Trail. Need a moment of peace and tranquillity? How about taking a canoe out on the lake and watch the sun dip behind the mountains.

River Opening for Fly Fishing - June 15th

We've been fishing the lakes around Fernie for a short while now, but nothing beats casting dry flies on Fernie’s pristine freestone rivers. Fernie has three guiding companies operating float, or wade tours and can point you towards the hungriest Cutthroat and Bull Trout in our waters. If you've never cast a rod before don't be afraid to ask about beginner lessons.

Bike Park & Scenic Chair Rides - June 23rd

Fernie Alpine Resort's chairlifts start turning on June 23rd. Now the snow's away, the downhill mountain biker can play. If that sounds a little too intense, how about taking a relaxing scenic chair ride up towards the subalpine for a hike. The views down the valley are stunning.
