The Booked! Fernie Writers' Series is a firm favourite on the Fernie cultural calendar featuring some of Canada's best and brightest literary talents.
These events are popular and seats fill up fast. This is a free, 19+ event, registration is required.
A suggested donation of $10 assists in bringing in new and exciting authors for each event.

Join Karl Subban for a discussion about hockey, family, and writing and led by local author Angie Abdou.
Karl Subban is a bestselling author, speaker, and award-winning educator. His third book, Raise Your Roof, is scheduled for release in the Spring of 2025.
Born in Jamaica Subban immigrated to Sudbury, Ontario, where he raised his family and built a career in the Greater Toronto Area. As the widely recognized patriarch of the Subban clan, Karl, along with his wife, Maria, have nurtured five well accomplished children, including NHL star, P.K. Subban.
Karl is a celebrated retired school principal and a skilled Maxwell Leadership certified coach, trainer, and DISC Consultant. His commitment to personal and professional expansions saw him earn an honorary Doctor of Education Degree from Lakehead University in 2022. Subban is also a director of the Greater Toronto Hockey League and the Herbert H. Carnegie Future Aces Foundation.
