The Fernie Chamber Holiday Kickoff is almost here and some fabulous community organizations are getting together to help your start your holidays in group hug style!

Join Fernie Pride, The Arts Station, Fernie Chamber of Commerce, Elk Valley Suicide Task Force, Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy - Elk Valley, and the Fernie Seniors Centre for TWO community events!

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1, 7 - 9 PM:

  • Cookie decorating, Holiday vinyl, Games, and more.
  • Adult beverages (alcoholic and nonalcoholic) by donation or BYOB. 
  • 19+ only.
  • This event is welcome to all but is a great chance for people to make some new friends or gather with those you know already. We encourage everyone to attend. The holidays can be difficult for some and we would like to make sure that they start off with a casual, social opportunity for everyone to feel welcomed, safe, and loved.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2, 10 AM - NOON:

  • Shortbread Showdown:
    • Drop off your entries at the Seniors Drop-In Centre on December 2nd by 9:30am.
    • Winner decided by the public with voting via jellybean.
    • The baker of the finest shortbread wins, well, bragging rights but they are good for 364 days!
  • Plus Cookie Decorating, Card Making, Ukulele Caroling, Hot Chocolate
  • All ages welcome!
