Download the Trailforks App or pick up a copy of Fernie Trail Map in one of the outdoor shops around town and head out for a nice low-valley hike. Montane trails and Castle Rock are usually the first hikes to clear in early spring and offer stunning views of the valley and the Rocky Mountains.

Now that you're back from your hiking adventure, we believe you should reward yourself with a locally brewed pint or a tasting flight of delicious Fernie beers at Fernie Brewing Company's patio or tasting room; or try flavorful home-made gelatos and ice cream at Happy Cow Ice Cream.

Set out for a day on the river with experienced and friendly guides. White water rafting season starts in late May and offers the ultimate adrenalin experience, taking you through stunning canyons with beautiful views on the surrounding mountains and a chance for spotting wildlife. Spend the afternoon relaxing and people watching from one of the patios around town or book a relaxing treatment at one of Fernie’s day spas.
Relax and enjoy some well deserved me time
Rent a mountain bike or a fat bike from one of the local shops if you don’t have your own and hit the trails either on your own or with an experienced local guide. Looking to level up your riding skills? Book a private lesson with Ridetheory. Check in with locals about current trail conditions, be respectful, keep your dogs on leash and make lots of noise. Carrying a bear spray while exploring Fernie trails is always a good idea.
