It's Griz Days so we're going back to the '80's again with party favourites, Val Kilmer and the New Coke!
Val Kilmer and the New Coke are an 80s new wave cover band. VKNC not only play hit songs from the 80s but hold in their repertoire the true gems that defined so many artists of it's era and continue to influence the new wave of indie synth rockers today! Covering hits ranging from Blondie to Billy Idol, Modern English to Michael Jackson, and Phil Collins to Pat Benetar, the band has become no stranger to a packed dance floor.
Originating from Nelson BC, Val Kilmer and the New Coke began as a teeny tiny brain child of some dude with really big hair. The band took some sweet 80s tunes and rocked them out with more of a punk rock edge. As the band grew, the synthesizer and keyboards became a big part of its image and the songs became more true to their original new wave sound meanwhile keeping that edge. Having mastered the best of both worlds and creating a one of a kind 80s party, VKNC now finds itself with two mullets and even more long hair, creating a slightly larger brain child that feeds on neon tights, piano neckties, and "can't get them out of your head" catchy lyrics.
With undeniably some of the most accessible music to entertain any crowd, and composed of five devastatingly talented, good looking, charismatic, yet modest musicians, Val Kilmer and the New Coke brings the kind of show that will sweep audiences off their feet in a whirlwind of synth lasers, tight and bright attitude, and in your face rocking fun.
