Participants will learn how to make a softcover book using a version of the historical long stitch binding technique which goes back centuries to medieval times. They will learn the skills necessary to make such a book and receive the tools which will include paper sheets, pre-cut leather cover material, needle, thread, bone folder, awl and embellishments.
This workshop is facilitated by the Fernie Fibre Guild and made possible through funding from Columbia Basin Trust and the Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance.
Workshops at the Arts Station
The Arts Station offers dedicated adult and children workshop throughout the year.
