Anie is a owner of Radish & Patch, a sustainable, body positive and slow fashion brand right here in Fernie. She is a self-taught sewist from a lineage of makers: her mother as a seamstress and grandfather, a tailor. Enjoying the process of creating with all kinds of textiles and fibres, Anie believes one way to a more sustainable and hopeful future is how we choose and consume our fashion.
Louise Ferguson is the Executive Director for the Fernie & District Arts Council. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Arts University Bournemouth, England, specialising in Costume. Louise has previously worked in costume departments in the London theatre community, national Ballet, and gained experience in fashion history curation. Upon leaving England she worked at Walt Disney World, Florida in the largest costume department in the world and as a seamstress in Fernie.
Workshops at the Arts Station
The Arts Station offers dedicated adult and children workshop throughout the year. Classes and workshops vary in duration and may be one-off events featuring a visiting artist, drop in series, scheduled weekly event, weekend camp or other format. Past and current events include feltmaking, pottery, painting, drawing, graffiti art, drama, creative writing, lantern building, crafts, encaustic art, jewellery making, sculpture, film-making, and much much more!
