Varied terrain, fresh powder, true wilderness, what could be better? There are many places to head out and Fernie Alpine Resort has two backcountry access areas, one accessing Mongolia Ridge and Lost Boys Pass at the top of Timber Chair, and another off Polar Peak.
But, safety is key to having fun and getting home safely. Before heading out complete an avalanche awareness course in Fernie, The Canadian Avalanche Association and our local College of the Rockies offer courses.
