The Fernie Golf & Country Club is proud to welcome the best of Western Canada's junior golfers.

Future Links is a national junior golf program spearheaded by the Royal Canadian Golf Association, the Canadian Professional Golfers' Association, and Canada's provincial golf associations. The program is designed to forge a link between Canada's youth and golf to ensure the future of the game in Canada. Since its inception in 1996, more than 83,000 kids have taken part in Future Links programs. 

Fernie is the ideal location for a junior golf event with a wide range of complimentary activities and family-friendly accommodations available, and historic downtown Fernie within walking distance. Completely encircled by the stunning Canadian Rocky Mountains, Fernie Golf and Country Club is a haven for the whole family. Come for the championship, stay for the experience.

These championships are open to male and female amateur golfers who have not reached their 19th birthday by August 1, 2017. Canadian players must be a member of a golf club belonging to Golf Canada or hold a Gold membership with Golf Canada. Membership and handicap will be verified prior to the championship. Foreign players must present a valid membership card of their home (national, state or country) affiliation.

ENTRY DEADLINE for the FL Western Canadian Championship at Fernie Golf & Country Club on July 10-13, 2017 is June 7, 2017. Entry Fee is $200. RULES & ENTRY FORM HERE.


Registration will be held Monday, July 10th 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. All competitors MUST register during this time. 

Welcome luncheon will be held on Monday, July 10th, at Fernie Golf & Country Club at 11:30 a.m. During lunch, Golf Canada staff and Tournament Officials will conduct the MANDATORY player meeting. Important tournament information including local rules, pace of play policy, and code of conduct will be discussed. 

The Golf Canada Junior Code of Conduct and Dress Code are in effect during the entire Championship. To view news, pairings, results, etc. visit the official website.


Practice round shot-gun will start Monday, July 10th at 1:00 p.m. Groups will be pre-arranged and assigned to specific holes and practice sessions are for competitors only.

Practice Facilities at Fernie Golf & Country Club will be available to all tournament players for the duration of the Championship. The practice range will open each day at 6:30 a.m. 

Fernie Golf & Country Clubhouse will be open daily at 6:30 a.m. There will be complimentary lunch for all competitors on Monday afternoon. 


The Super 8 Fernie ($102.00 single/double) is one of the official host accommodations for the championship. Please call 1-877-447-6788 and reference the group name “Golf Canada”. The cut-off date for the guaranteed room rate is June 14th, 2017

The Red Tree Lodge and Restaurant ($104.00 single/double) is the other official host accommodation for the championship. Please call 250-423-4622 and reference the group code “GOLFCA”. The cut-off date for the guaranteed room rate is June 12th, 2017.
