The Annual Fernie Tears & Gears. Kids 8+ categories and adults. Solo or team.

Catering to all ages and abilities, the race is a fun, competitive event. Racers can expect flats, climbs, and downhills on some of Fernie’s most fun singletrack trails. The race features solo, team, classic and kids categories.

All information below is from 2017, course and times may adjust.

A great loop through the Ridgemont trail network – utilizing the new Elk Valley Trail, a tough climb up Splitting Bears, before a rooty run down Eric's Trail. A final short climb up What's Up Doc sets you up for the final descent on Kiddie Up and Cemetary By-Pass to complete the loop.

Bikers tag off from runners. Leaving the Aquatic Centre, head out on the Kootenay Elk Trail, to the base of Sidewinder. Head up Sidewinder to the top, and onto Broken Derailleur. From there, take R-Trail over to the start of Kush.

Then it’s Kush, Kushier, Kushiest and Kushin...leading you straight onto Coal Discovery Trail to home. Heading back to the Aquatic Centre, the same way as you headed out.
