Where is Fernie, BC

Completely surrounded by the Canadian Rockies, Fernie is situated in the southeast corner of British Columbia along Highway 3 close to border with Alberta and Montana USA.  Fernie is an easy drive on main highways:

  • 3 hour drive from Calgary, Alberta, Canada
  • 1 hour drive from Cranbrook, BC
  • 2 hour drive from Whitefish & Kalispell, Montana USA
  • 5 hour drive from Spokane, Washington USA

Closest airports with daily flights connecting through Vancouver (YVR) are Canadian Rockies International (YXC) in Cranbrook and Calgary International (YYC). Airport shuttle service and car rentals are available from both airports.
