Fernie Fitness Goals for the New Year

It all sounds pretty familiar at this time of year. Exercise more, get fitter, lose weight. Heard it all before?

Check out these Fernie events to inspire you to reach your New Year goals.

Fernie's 3rd Annual Flying Viking Challenge - March 14th 2020

Fancy dress is optional, totally encouraged, but very importantly it is unscientifically proved to make you faster around this classic course. This 50km event starts at the Elk Valley Nordic Centre running to the trails at Fernie Alpine Resort. Take it on as a relay or solo if you're feeling absolutely nuts.

Raging Elk Powder Pedal Paddle - April 11th 2020

This ski season-ending tradition continues at Fernie Alpine Resort. This quadrathlon event has racers mass starting from the top of the Griz Face skiing down to the resort base. A fast transition out of ski boots and the race continues into town via bike, into a kayak for a paddle down the Elk River back to the resort. Just as the lactic acid starts setting in, the final stage takes racers back uphill to the resort and over the finish line. Take on the PPP as a relay team of two to five members, or solo if you dare.

Lone Wolf

The Lone Wolf is a trail running challenge in Fernie, BC. A simple, fun, looped race. But there’s a catch. Racers start together on the hour as a pack, needing to finish the loop within the hour. As when the next hour strikes, the race starts again, in the opposite direction. The goal? To complete as many loops as you can. So, do you think you can outrun the pack and become The Lone Wolf?

Lucky 7s - June 2020 (TBA)
